CONSTITUTION

THIS GROUP SHALL BE CALLED AS THE ‘BRACHIAL PLEXUS SURGERY GROUP OF INDIA’
       
Aims:    
   
To interact among those interested in this area of Reconstructive Surgery so that better management can be evolved to rehabilitate the unfortunate victims of Brachial Plexus Injury.
   
1.To offer training to those who are interested in this field .
   
2.To create a website and chat room for academic purpose and patients’ benefit.
   
3.To draw up a protocol in the management of these cases which will help to standardize care.
   
4.To create a system of auditing for assessment of results.
   
5.To facilitate technology transfer from colleagues elsewhere by holding workshops and meetings.
   
6.To set up a national registry of Brachial Plexus injury
   
7.To create awareness amongst medical professionals about current trends and recent advances in this field
   
8.To make the public realize the importance of safe driving, to prevent these injuries, and inform them of availability of care in this area
   
9.To hold regular meetings once in two years
  
The group will have an executive committee with the following office bearers
   
1.President

2.Vice President

3.Secretary cum Treasurer

4.Four committee members
 
All of the above will be elected by the General Body. The term of office will be two years. The president and Vice President will have one term only. The others will have a maximum of two terms
 
Membership
 
Twenty nine founder members have formed the group to start with .Membership shall be restricted to those who do considerable in the management of Brachial Plexus lesions. Any new applicant for ‘Full Membership’ shall be admitted by the executive committee after a scrutiny of his/her credentials and will subsequently need the approval of the general body
 
Membership Full will be for life. Full Members will pay Rs. 7,500/-
